O’Sullivan Draws Parallels Between Wilson and Scheffler
Ronnie O’Sullivan believes that Kyren Wilson has the ideal “mentality” necessary for sustained success, likening him to elite golfer Scottie Scheffler.
This evening, Wilson will face Michael Holt in the quarter-finals of the UK Snooker Championships.
Having won the Crucible championship seven times, O’Sullivan admires Wilson’s knack for handling pressure after his recent world title win this year.
In a conversation with Eurosport, The Rocket remarked: “Success largely depends on the individual; for some, high expectations can be burdensome and can derail their careers.
“In contrast, those who possess talent and a strong background tend to rise to the occasion, often achieving remarkable accomplishments.”
“Kyren definitely fits that description and is on track to secure many more prestigious titles.”
O’Sullivan elaborated: “He reminds me of golfer Scottie Scheffler.
“While plenty of players can drive the ball effectively and showcase various skills, Wilson shines in all facets of the game, making him a formidable opponent when he’s at peak performance.”
