O’Sullivan Compares Wilson to Scheffler
Ronnie O’Sullivan is of the opinion that Kyren Wilson possesses the ideal “mentality” for achieving long-term success, drawing a comparison to world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler.
Wilson is set to compete against Michael Holt in the quarter-finals of the UK Snooker Championships later today.
As a seven-time Crucible champion, O’Sullivan admires Wilson’s capacity to manage pressure after his first world title victory this year.
The Rocket expressed to Eurosport: “It really depends on the individual; for some, the burden of expectation can be overwhelming and may derail their careers.”
“However, those who have talent and pedigree often rise to the occasion, achieving notable success.”
“Kyren certainly embodies that profile and is on the path to acquiring many more prestigious titles.”
O’Sullivan added: “He reminds me of Scottie Scheffler, the golfer.”
“While many players can hit the ball far and have various skills, Wilson excels in every aspect of the game, making him a tough competitor when he is at his best.”
