The remains of Upton Park now host a residential community, an iconic statue, and more than a century of cherished memories.
West Ham honored their storied past at the Boleyn Ground for 102 years before relocating in 2016.
The Hammers said a heartfelt goodbye to their beloved ground after a thrilling 3-2 victory against Manchester United in May 2016.
Since that moment, they have continued their football journey a few miles away in Stratford, largely leaving behind their former community.
A segment of Upton Park was demolished for the 2018 film Final Score, featuring Pierce Brosnan and Dave Bautista.
Eventually, the entire site was leveled to make way for 842 new apartments.
SunSport reported last year that the site’s legacy and its community impact are honored with the residential building featuring a “bubbles” motif, inspired by the club’s famous anthem “Forever Blowing Bubbles.”
The Upton Gardens development offers a diverse range of property types, with prices starting at £350,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and around £500,000 for a two-bedroom maisonette.
The departure of West Ham has profoundly impacted the local community.

In anticipation of the upcoming Premier League match against Arsenal, one fan remarked, “I’d rather spend my money here to support the pub.”
“Consider all the patrons they’ve lost over the years. West Ham’s move has deeply impacted the area.
“When I’m asked if West Ham is at home this week, I respond, ‘No, they’re playing away at Stratford.’ We no longer have a home ground.
“The atmosphere at the London Stadium is dreadful, and the away fans overshadow us every week.”
Since leaving Upton Park, West Ham has achieved many milestones, including winning the Europa Conference League in 2023.
Nevertheless, many fans still feel a disconnect with their current stadium.
Ultimately, an essential part of the club’s heritage will forever be associated with E13, where 842 apartments now overshadow over a century of history.
