Tributes have come in from around the globe for the late Fraser, including a heartfelt message from his former competitor and fellow Australian titan Rod Laver.
Laver expressed his sorrow on X, stating: “I am deeply saddened by the news of my dear friend and fellow left-handed player, Neale Fraser’s passing.
“He was an extraordinary talent during a golden era of Australian tennis – a remarkable World No.1, a Grand Slam champion, and a true Davis Cup icon.”
“Neale bested me in two major finals, motivating me to enhance my skills.”
“My sincere condolences go out to Thea and Neale’s wider family. I will miss you dearly, my friend. Rest in peace.”
