In Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal, an attempted hijacking occurred early Sunday morning, resulting in injuries to a Good Samaritan. The incident took place around 02:31 on Jabu Ngcobo Road, where a man was shot while assisting a stranded motorist.
Attempted Hijacking
A female driver was reportedly en route to Ndwedwe, KZN, when her white VW Polo sedan suffered a flat tire.

When a passing driver stopped to assist, the situation escalated. A white Nissan NP200 bakkie, with undetermined license plates, blocked both vehicles, and its occupants attempted to rob the stranded motorist and hijack one of the cars.

During the confrontation, the Good Samaritan who intervened was shot in the arm, and the suspects quickly fled the scene in their getaway vehicle.
Investigation Underway
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived shortly after reports of the shooting. The injured individual received initial treatment at the scene before being transported to a medical facility for further care.
Authorities are currently probing the incident, and efforts are underway to capture the suspects involved.
