TEAM EUROPE jubilantly marked their victory in the Mosconi Cup.
Europe defeated Team USA with a score of 11-6, securing their fifth straight title in Florida.
Jayson Shaw triumphed over opposing captain Skyler Woodward with an impressive score of 5-0, extending Europe’s lead to five points and starting the evening at 10-5.
Fedor Gorst managed to earn a point, but Francisco Sanchez Ruiz later outlasted Woodward 5-4, sealing the victory.
After Ruiz pocketed the final ball, he and his teammates celebrated by dancing on the table to ‘Freed From Desire’ in front of a disappointed US snooker crowd.
This was a notable achievement for Shaw, as he lifted the trophy in his debut as captain.
The Scot remarked: “I want to extend my gratitude to everyone who supported us.
“It was a challenging journey, demanding considerably more effort this year. Our preparation was extensive for this event.
“It was a joy to have them on my team, and I eagerly await our next opportunity.”
Team USA captain Woodward acknowledged the talent of his opponents while expressing pride in his own team.
