Reports suggest that MOHAMED SALAH is close to signing a new contract with Liverpool.
The Egyptian winger’s current deal with the Reds, which was established in June 2017, is set to end at the conclusion of this season.
Salah, 32, stated late last month that the club had yet to reach out to him regarding a contract extension in Merseyside.
However, it now appears that the Reds’ management has made a fresh proposal for a contract to the Egyptian international.
This development is reported by The Mirror, which claims Salah is on the brink of finalizing a new two-year contract at Anfield.
Salah is believed to have requested a three-year deal to secure his future with the club, whereas the Reds initially proposed only a one-year extension.
Nevertheless, it is said that both parties have reached a “compromise” regarding a two-year deal.
Speculation about Salah’s upcoming contract follows remarks from former Egyptian international Haytham Farouk, who suggested that the ex-Chelsea and Roma player had already signed a new agreement.
Alongside a photo of himself with Salah, he wrote on X: “Congratulations on renewing your contract with the number you prefer and the duration you desire.
“The Egyptian king rules with his own decisions.”
