The All Blacks have announced the venues for their two Rugby Championship test matches against the Springboks next year.
The first test is set to be held at the renowned Hampden Park in Auckland on 6 September. New Zealand has an impressive unbeaten streak at this location, with 48 wins and 2 draws out of 50 matches.
The second test is scheduled for 13 September at Sky Stadium in Wellington.
This forthcoming series gives the Springboks an opportunity to reciprocate, having hosted both tests in South Africa earlier this year. Their victories in those encounters marked their first Freedom Cup win since 2009.
The Springboks have maintained an impressive winning streak against the All Blacks, securing four consecutive victories, which includes the Rugby World Cup final last year in France. This outstanding series commenced with a World Cup warm-up match at Twickenham Stadium.
By selecting the historic Hampden Park for the first test, the All Blacks will be putting their unbeaten track record to the challenge. The Springboks are determined to build on their recent success against their long-standing rivals.
Furthermore, the Springboks will face Australia in two Rugby Championship matches in South Africa, with venues yet to be announced by SA Rugby. They will also take on Argentina in home and away fixtures before wrapping up the year with the Autumn Nations Series in the UK.
Notably, the Springboks achieved a historic feat during the 2023 Autumn Nations Series by winning all three matches on their tour, a remarkable achievement they hadn’t accomplished since 2013.
