
Johannesburg – The African National Congress (ANC) has triumphantly reclaimed Ward 30 in Roossenekal, Sekhukhune, Limpopo, securing an impressive 71% of the vote during the recent by-elections.
“After a remarkable showing in multiple by-elections across the country, the ANC has celebrated another significant win in the recent elections held in the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality,” announced spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri in an official statement.
“The ANC achieved 71% of the votes in Ward 30, Roossenekal, which is a substantial rise from 37%.”
The electoral results were as follows:
- African National Congress: 71% (up from 37%)
- Economic Freedom Fighters: 22% (down from 47%)
- MK Party: 6%
- MAC: 1% (down from 2%)
- Bolsheviks: <1%
- TRUTH: <1%
This victory is particularly significant as it represents a definitive reclaiming of the Ward from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
“This win serves as a powerful confirmation of the community’s confidence in the ANC, underscoring the strength of our movement and the electorate’s trust in the ANC’s ability to deliver essential services and establish an effective local government that fulfills its service delivery obligations,” the statement highlighted.
“We encourage communities to join forces with the ANC, to reclaim lost ground, work collaboratively towards a shared vision for a better life, and improve the quality of living.”
