Pretoria – In the early hours of this morning, the Die Poskantoor Restaurant situated on Langenhoven Street in Constantia Park was consumed by flames.
As per the City of Tshwane’s Emergency Services Department, they received an emergency call on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at around 03:57.
Firefighters from nearby stations, including Hazelwood, Erasmuskloof, and Silverton, were promptly dispatched to the scene.
The firefighting efforts continued until the fire was fully extinguished around 05:55.
After the fire was put out, firefighters confirmed that there were no injuries, and the animals in a nearby pet shop were successfully rescued during the incident.
The firefighters also worked to ensure that the adjacent shopping centre was not damaged by the intense heat from the fire.
Members of the South African Police Service along with various private security organizations were also present at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
