The evening’s other notable awardees included Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman and Zambia’s Barbra Banda.
Lookman, who shone with Atalanta and Nigeria’s Super Eagles, received the CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.
Banda, who was honored as the Women’s Player of the Year, thrived in the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League in the United States, leading the Orlando Pride to win the NWSL Shield and Championship title.
