Pretoria – Constance Kanatu, a distinguished nurse from Joe Morolong Hospital in Vryburg, North West, has been honored with the title of “Most Caring Nurse for 2024.”
Nurse Kanatu, who specializes in Ophthalmology, received this prestigious recognition at the Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) Gala Dinner held at the Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria on the evening of December 19, 2024.
She was awarded the Marilyn Lahana Caring National Award, which pays tribute to Marilyn Lahana, a Johannesburg nurse who sadly lost her life to the Ebola virus while devotedly caring for a patient.
The management of the Marilyn Lahana Caring Award is overseen by DENOSA.
This esteemed annual accolade honors a nurse who exemplifies outstanding commitment and selfless dedication to patient care, as determined by peer voting.

As an Ophthalmic Nurse, Kanatu has made a profound impact on patients facing eye-related challenges.
