Two Suspects Apprehended for Cellphone Theft at Makhadzi’s Solo Performance

Authorities apprehended two suspects believed to be involved in the cellphone thefts that occurred during Makhadzi’s One Woman Show at the fully booked Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo.

The renowned artist drew an impressive audience of 46,000 fans on Saturday night, but the excitement was marred by reports of stolen phones. In a rapid reaction, the police’s public order unit commenced efforts to track down the suspects.

Cellphones Recovered After Makhadzi’s Show

By 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, law enforcement arrested two individuals linked to the thefts. According to police spokesperson Lt-Col Stephen Thakeng, a 26-year-old suspect was caught with two stolen cellphones, while his 30-year-old accomplice had an astonishing twelve devices in his possession.

Several victims successfully identified the suspects, and the stolen phones were returned to them at the local police station.

Ongoing Investigations and Legal Proceedings

“The suspects are scheduled to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges for possession of suspected stolen goods,” remarked Lt-Col Thakeng. He also indicated that the investigation remains ongoing.
