BEN FOSTER, the former goalkeeper for Manchester United, suggests that MARCUS RASHFORD could eventually make a transition to an MLS club.
Rashford, now 27, has recently found himself out of favor at Old Trafford with head coach Ruben Amorim.
The winger has been absent from the squad for the last three matchdays for United.
Rashford has expressed that he is seeking a “new challenge” and is believed to be available for roughly £40 million.
However, Foster, 41, feels that the Red Devils will find it difficult to reach that price point.
On his Cycling GK podcast, he stated: “Marcus Rashford is a popular topic, with many saying ‘when he’s on form, when he’s on form.’
“But those moments only come once every ten games. Honestly, it really only happens once every ten games, and you can’t have a luxury player like that in modern football; it’s just not practical.
“Moreover, the heightened profile and expectations surrounding him lead me to believe that Mikel Arteta wouldn’t want him at Arsenal.
“He needs to leave Manchester United. I foresee him moving to the MLS or something similar. A significant cut in wages will be necessary.”
Currently, Rashford earns approximately £325,000 a week, and his contract with United extends until the summer of 2028.

This season, he has appeared in 15 Premier League matches, netting four goals.
Foster pondered what barriers might hinder Rashford’s progress, commenting: “Once that spark fades, can it be revived? It has to come from within, and I’m not sure he can reclaim it.
“Additionally, the financial situation adds further complexity.
“When players secure large contracts with guaranteed salaries for several years, it’s easy for them to lose their drive.
“The suggested £40 million asking price is a stumbling block. Even £10 million? I wouldn’t contemplate it… considering all these factors.”
Amorim, who is 39, was recently asked about Rashford’s situation by Sky Sports.
‘A CHALLENGING SITUATION’
The Portuguese manager remarked: “It’s a challenging situation. I recognize that many players are influenced by others who may not align with the player’s true intentions.
“I’m here to assist Marcus just as I would for any player. I have to fulfill my responsibilities.
“They opted to conduct the interview, as it’s not solely Marcus’s concern. I understand that.
“As a coach, I prioritize performance and training. The other matters can be addressed at the appropriate time for me and the club.”
Later today, Man Utd will face off against Wolves.
Rashford’s latest match was the 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen on December 12.
