Makhadzi Blames Promoter for Her Absence at Makwassi Performance

Makwassi – Well-known artist Makhadzi has pointed fingers at the promoter for her absence at the Makwassi Stadium in the North West.

On Boxing Day, (Thursday, 26 December 2024), chaos erupted among fans who vandalised the stadium after learning that the “One Woman Show” singer would not take the stage.

Furious attendees set the stage ablaze, leading to significant damage to the sound equipment.

In a statement released on Friday, (27 December 2024), Makhadzi Entertainment attributed the incident to the promoter’s failure to meet their contractual commitments.

“It is crucial to understand that Makhadzi and her team only receive event details once all payments are confirmed, as detailed in the contract,” the statement reiterated, placing the burden of the unsuccessful show squarely on the promoter.

Makhadzi Entertainment clarified that while they received a deposit, the remaining payments were not made within the agreed two-week timeframe.

This situation resulted in Makhadzi Entertainment being unable to inform the Limpopo-born artist about her engagement for the Boxing Day event in the North West.

“We did not receive the outstanding balance within the 14 days,” Makhadzi Entertainment stated.

“We sincerely apologize to our dedicated fans in Makwasa.”

Additionally, Makhadzi Entertainment did not rule out the chance of a future performance in Makwassi.

“We look forward to seeing you all soon,” the statement concluded.

However, it remains unclear who will take responsibility for the damage to the stadium, stage, and sound equipment.
