Cape Town – The Fire Management team at Table Mountain National Park has deployed ground firefighting crews and aerial resources to combat a fire on the front face of Table Mountain in Cape Town, Western Cape.
“For public safety, the Platteklip Gorge trail and Contour path along the front face of Table Mountain will be closed today and tomorrow,” SANParks announced on Sunday, (29 December 2924).
“SANParks rangers along with officials from the City of Cape Town Law Enforcement are on-site to assist with crowd management.
“We request visitors to avoid the area and refrain from going past the upper cable station until further notice.”
In a brief update, SANParks reassured the public that the situation is under effective management.
“We appreciate the cooperation of the public during this time,” SANParks concluded.
