Investigators in Limpopo are probing a suspected murder-suicide after the decomposed bodies of a man and a woman, believed to be a couple, were discovered at a home in Northam.
Couple Found Deceased
According to Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the couple, aged 24 and 34, was last seen on Christmas Day around 11:45 p.m. at a local tavern. Their remains were discovered several days later, with the woman positioned in bed and the man found hanging from the ceiling.

“The motives behind this heartbreaking incident remain uncertain, but a domestic dispute cannot be ruled out at this time,” Ledwaba remarked.
Authorities are withholding the identities of the deceased until their families are notified, although reports suggest that the woman is originally from Lesotho.
Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, Provincial Police Commissioner for Limpopo, denounced the incident and urged individuals in troubled relationships to seek professional help.
Robbery and Homicide Case
In another matter, three suspects have been charged with robbing and murdering a 59-year-old man in Sebayeng Township and have made their appearance in the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court.
The crime took place on July 21, 2024, when the accused allegedly entered the victim’s home, assaulted him, and strangled him before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Authorities suspect the victim had just received a significant payment.
The suspects were arrested on December 18 after a thorough investigation. Their court proceedings have been postponed to January 3, 2025, to facilitate legal preparations.
