A group of fans from Bournemouth has received praise on social media for gifting a ticket to the World Darts Championship to a homeless person.
Some supporters of the Cherries ended up with an extra ticket for quarter-final night at Ally Pally this past Wednesday after a friend was unable to make it.
Rather than reselling the ticket or keeping it for themselves, the fans made the commendable choice to gift it to a homeless man.
The fans, wearing sombreros, handed the ticket to the man and invited him to join them for the evening.
The Metro also reported that they covered all his expenses for the evening and arranged a stay at a Travelodge hotel, ensuring he would not have to sleep outside.
This heartwarming story quickly gained traction online, amassing thousands of likes.
Social media users praised the Bournemouth fans for their generosity.
One commenter said: “As a Villa fan, I applaud how football supporters are demonstrating their compassion. Hats off to you, Bournemouth fans.”
Another added: “You’re all legends. What a wonderful gesture! If only everyone could follow your example.”
