Modimolle – A 16-year-old girl is scheduled to appear before the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo, facing accusations of murdering her 24-year-old boyfriend.
The incident reportedly took place on New Year’s Day around 05:20 AM, during a heated confrontation between the couple.
According to police reports, the conflict erupted when the 24-year-old victim caught his girlfriend with another man.
In a rage, the victim physically assaulted his 16-year-old girlfriend, who managed to escape his grasp.
The police further explained that the man chased after the teenager and attacked her again.
“She took a knife from her bag and stabbed her boyfriend, inflicting serious injuries,” the police report stated.
“He attempted to return home but collapsed from his stab wounds at the intersection of Moloantoa and Selemela streets in Extension 8 Phagameng, in an open area in Modimolle.”
Friends of the victim discovered his body shortly after.
Emergency Medical Services arrived promptly, and paramedics declared the man dead at the scene.
“A murder investigation has been initiated,” the police statement disclosed.
“The 16-year-old girl has been taken into custody and is scheduled to appear on January 3, 2024, at the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court.”
