Pretoria – The Facebook account of Justice and Constitutional Development Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi has been breached, as reported by her department.
On Saturday, January 4, 2025, the department indicated that it has “noted with concern” the unauthorized access to Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi’s Facebook account.
“An individual or group has unlawfully gained access to the account and is using it to solicit potentially illegal opportunities and to message unsuspecting individuals about project prospects,” the department stated.
“The ministry vehemently condemns this illegal activity and urges the public to remain vigilant and not to fall victim to this scam.
“Please be informed that Minister Kubayi has not sent messages regarding project opportunities to anyone.”
The department warned that impersonating the minister or anyone else is a serious criminal offense.
The department will notify the relevant authorities and social media platform owners about this incident to ensure prompt action is taken to prevent further illegal activities.
“We encourage the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately,” the department advised.
