MO SALAH engaged with Jamie Carragher after the Liverpool icon suggested he should “take notes from Virgil van Dijk.”
This exchange occurred amidst Salah’s ongoing contract discussions with the club.
The Egyptian striker’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current season.
Furthermore, Liverpool has yet to finalize an extension amid speculation linking them to Saudi clubs.
Salah has also hinted that he may be approaching the end of his time at Anfield.
Additionally, he is not the only Liverpool player potentially facing a free transfer.
Reports indicate that Trent Alexander-Arnold might be on his way to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk is also attracting attention from various European teams.
However, Carragher believes Van Dijk has displayed admirable composure by not engaging in the surrounding discussions.
He encouraged Salah to emulate his captain’s conduct, particularly following the forward’s recent cryptic social media post featuring him alongside Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold.

Carragher remarked on Sky Sports: “Ooh, I’m not certain. What I can state is that Van Dijk has emerged from all this this season as captain with my utmost admiration.
“It’s about how he has carried himself, his performances on the pitch, and his leadership qualities.
“His attitude was commendable, and he did not let himself get overly involved in the surrounding concerns. This is certainly a crucial time for all three players.
“However, instead of focusing on Trent Alexander-Arnold or Mo Salah, I would prefer to highlight Virgil van Dijk.
“He has shown what true leadership is. He’s navigated questions adeptly and remains committed to winning the league, giving it everything for Liverpool. Let’s hope he signs.
“Yet, I believe the other two could benefit from observing Virgil van Dijk’s behavior.”
Carragher’s remarks prompted a light-hearted response from Salah on social media.
Salah joked: “I’m beginning to think you’re obsessed with me.”
Carragher swiftly replied: “I’ve always had an obsession with you. Hopefully, that obsession continues into the next season.”
Fans reacted to their humorous exchange, with one comment reading: “No way Salah himself tweeted this.”
Another added: “Did NOT see that coming.”
One fan advised: “Focus on the game.”
Another remarked: “Thought this was fake, but it’s genuine!”
