January 2025 Transfer Window: Key Deadline Day Information for the Premier League, EFL, and European Leagues

THE January transfer window has officially kicked off, as teams aim to bolster their squads for the remainder of the season.

So, when does it end this year, and is the deadline consistent across all European leagues?

When does the January transfer window open and close?

This year, English football clubs started their January transfer window on Wednesday, January 1st.

According to league rules, new signings can participate in the next Premier League match if the club submits the necessary paperwork by midday on the last working day before that match.

When is the transfer deadline day and what time does it conclude?

The deadline for all leagues is set for Monday, February 3 at 23:00 GMT.

Once the transfer window closes, clubs are required to submit their squad lists.

The winter transfer deadlines for various leagues are as follows: Bundesliga (5pm GMT), Serie A (7pm), Ligue 1 in France (10pm), and finally La Liga at (11pm).

Is the transfer window the same for the Premier League and EFL?

The transfer window follows the identical schedule for both the Premier League and EFL.

Premier League clubs are restricted to registering a maximum of two players on loan at the same time.

EFL clubs are allowed to make emergency loans if all their professional goalkeepers are unavailable due to injury, suspension, or international duty.
