Lehlohonolo Seema, the head coach of Sekhukhune United, shared his thoughts on Keletso Makgalwa and Katlego Otladisa, noting that Makgalwa appears to have found his rhythm again within the Limpopo squad.
Following their 2-0 victory over AmaZulu at King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday, Sekhukhune moved up to fourth place in the Betway Premiership, amassing 20 points across 11 matches.
Seema expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, praising his technical staff for their precise evaluations of the opponents and commending his players for maintaining focus during crucial moments, managing to score at the end of both halves.
A standout performance came from former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Makgalwa, who has become a vital part of the Limpopo team’s game plan this season, marking his 10th start in 11 appearances.
The former Polokwane City coach reminisced about Makgalwa’s journey, stating that he has always regarded him highly, even during times when others thought he had underperformed in South Africa’s top division.
“It’s incredibly encouraging to see a player who was once considered finished bounce back and revitalize his career. His talent has always been evident; it just requires an opportunity, belief, and support. He is fully embracing this chance, which his teammates are doing as well,” remarked Seema.
The 44-year-old coach also spoke about the newly acquired winger, Otladisa, who joined on a six-month loan from Orlando Pirates.
Seema conveyed his pleasure in the signing, granting Otladisa his debut start against Polokwane City last weekend, where he played the whole match, earning praise from the coach for his contributions.
“With Otladisa, it’s clear that our decision to bring him in during this transfer window paid off, as his performance showcases his confidence and vitality, which positively impacts the team. I am also excited for our striker Andy Boyeli, who has now netted his second league goal,” he said.
As the January transfer window has been open for nine days, Sekhukhune is among the few teams that have made a move in the market with the loan signing of Otladisa.
However, the coach mentioned that although he has not yet discussed it with management, there are aspects of the squad that may require some adjustments.
“In football, nothing is ever guaranteed. Although I haven’t consulted with my management yet, our technical team is always conversing, so we’ll assess the situation. There may be one or two changes needed, but it’s an ongoing evaluation,” he stated.
