Reports suggest that MANCHESTER UNITED has decreased their asking price for Alejandro Garnacho.
The Argentina international has piqued the interest of his former club Atletico Madrid, along with several prominent Serie A clubs, including Napoli.
Chelsea is also reportedly interested, with his agent recently spotted at Stamford Bridge during the Blues’ 3-1 victory over Wolves on Monday night.
The Red Devils initially anticipated selling the winger for approximately £75million.
However, they seem to have reduced their estimated valuation of the 20-year-old by nearly a THIRD.
This information comes from Sky Italia, which reports that the Premier League side is now open to selling the Argentine for £55m.
Napoli, who are in search of a new winger following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia‘s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, will likely welcome United’s reported price drop for Garnacho.
The Italians had an initial offer of £40m for the forward declined.
Napoli has shown a keen interest in acquiring Garnacho before the January transfer window closes on February 3.
Sporting director Giovanni Manna has recently mentioned that the United star is “important” to Napoli’s plans.
In addressing inquiries about their interest in Garnacho, he stated: “We are making some assessments.
“He is an important player, but he is not included in our squad.
“We must avoid excessive excitement while recognizing that a significant player has departed.
Which Manchester United stars should stay and go?
“A top player, as described by the manager, so expectations are undeniably high.
“However, we will proceed under Napoli’s terms.”
Garnacho, alongside his Manchester United teammates, is set to return to action on Thursday, hosting the Scottish giants Rangers at Old Trafford for their second last Europa League group match.
