Lerato’s mother, who retired in August of the previous year, has chosen to return to work, and Lerato suspects it might be due to feelings of boredom. “Can I borrow an infant for a week? I promise to return it,” she joked, before quickly deleting the posts.
“I am my mom’s only child. I had hoped she would relax and travel more. I think she got bored; she just needs a little human to keep her busy,” she added.
Along with her light-hearted request to borrow a baby, Lerato also revealed a deeper sadness—a struggle she has been facing for quite a while.
