Springbok loosehead prop Ntuthuko Mchunu has officially committed to the DHL Stormers and will be joining the squad at the conclusion of the current season.
The promising 25-year-old made his Springbok debut against Wales in 2022, alongside future teammates Evan Roos and Deon Fourie from the Stormers.
Mchunu is celebrated as one of the emerging talents in South African rugby, and he is eager to advance his career in Cape Town.
His arrival will strengthen the depth of the DHL Stormers’ front row, where he will vie for the No.1 jersey alongside Ali Vermaak, Sti Sithole, and Vernon Matongo in the upcoming season.
John Dobson, the Director of Rugby, expressed his excitement about Mchunu’s signing for a number of reasons.

“Ntuthuko has competed at the highest levels of rugby from an early age, and we’re excited to see how he continues to refine his skills here.
“He has the ability to excel in open play as an exceptionally athletic loosehead, and collaborating with experienced players like Frans Malherbe and Neethling Fouche will further develop his abilities as a prop.
“At only 25, Ntuthuko’s future is promising, and we’re delighted that he sees this as the ideal place to unlock his vast potential,” he remarked.
Mchunu expressed his enthusiasm about embarking on this new chapter of his career in Cape Town.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to train alongside some of the best players and coaches in the game, and I am eager to elevate my performance.
“The atmosphere within the DHL Stormers appears genuinely special from what I’ve seen, and I look forward to becoming involved and contributing as much as I can when I arrive at the end of the season,” he stated.
