Orlando Pirates are nearing the completion of a deal for Baroka’s Tshepo Mashiloane and Kabelo Kgositsile.
The duo made a significant impression on the Pirates management, especially Kgositsile, during their Nedbank Cup round of 16 encounter at Orlando Stadium last month.
They demonstrated impressive synergy on the right side, with Kgositsile playing an offensive role while Mashiloane adopted a more defensive right-back position, even though Baroka ended up losing the match 3-1 in Soweto.
Kgositsile joined Baroka’s first team at the beginning of the 2021/22 season while the club was competing in the Betway Premiership, although he did not get much playing time as Baroka faced relegation.
Since that time, he has played in 77 matches across all competitions, netting nine goals. Mashiloane, wearing jersey number 4, was elevated by Baroka in the next season, 2022/23, as the team participated in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

According to sources at Sportswire, both players are anticipated to officially join Pirates at the conclusion of the season. Baroka has a reputation for supplying players to Pirates, with previous transfers including Evidence Makgopa, Goodman Mosele, Collins Makgaka, Donald Mokondelela, Thabiso Kutumela, and Gift Motupa.
It remains unclear whether these players will be managed by Jose Riveiro if they sign with the Soweto Giants. Riveiro’s contract is set to end at the season’s conclusion, and since his appointment in June 2022, he has secured multiple trophies.
There are rumors regarding his potential exit after this season, and it seems unlikely that he will renew his contract with the Mayfair club. Riveiro has faced personal challenges during his three years in South Africa, exacerbated by being away from his family, a situation acknowledged by the club when they expressed gratitude to him following their historic third consecutive MTN8 victory last October.
