Human Remains Found in Cornubia After Reports of Pungent Smell

Resident Reports Foul Smell

The investigation was initiated when a concerned resident of a nearby housing complex contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre.

The resident reported detecting a strong, decaying smell emanating from a neighboring residence.

RUSA officers were promptly dispatched to the location. Upon their arrival, they were taken inside the home, where they encountered the severely decomposed body of a male.

Victim Identified By Neighbours

The victim was found hanging by a rope attached to a burglar bar.

Local residents identified him, saying he had last been seen socializing with friends on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

According to neighbors, his family had been unable to reach him since that time, as his phone went unanswered.

Friend Makes Disturbing Discovery

Neighbors alerted the victim’s family about the disturbing odor being emitted from the house.

A friend of the victim entered the home after noticing the door slightly open, leading to the shocking revelation.
