Influencer Tiffany Fong claimed that Elon Musk asked her to have his child. In reaction, Buterin condemned the speculation about her pregnancy as “tasteless.”
Tabloid media is buzzing with rumors about the latest woman Musk allegedly approached regarding parenthood. On April 17, as Polymarket approved a bet on her potential pregnancy, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin expressed his concern regarding the betting site’s activities.
Polymarket showcased an AI-generated image of Fong appearing pregnant in front of the White House, hinting at Musk’s connection to the current administration.
“fwiw I personally think this is tasteless and violation of a person’s privacy and dignity,” Buterin commented on the Polymarket bet.
Rumors regarding Fong’s alleged pregnancy surfaced after a Wall Street Journal article claimed that Musk had proposed fatherhood to her following several months of interactions on Twitter and through direct messages.
Fong turned down the offer, which resulted in Musk unfollowing her on Twitter. Reports indicate that her profitable deal with the platform also came to a halt. Afterward, she recounted her experiences with Ashley St. Clair, another woman who is the mother of Musk’s child, Romulus, and is currently involved in a legal dispute with him.
Who is Tiffany Fong?
Tiffany Fong refers to herself as a “reluctant crypto journalist,” gaining attention after publicizing her discussions with former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. These interviews were subsequently referenced in the Department of Justice’s indictment against him and FTX.
During that time, social media users speculated and made jokes about her supposed connections with Bankman-Fried, Musk, and even Buterin. In January 2024, she engaged with this humor by requesting that people stop discussing her and Buterin, sharing a photo of Buterin with an unidentified woman.
Polymarket operates as an online prediction betting platform recognized for its controversial betting categories. The company has recently faced criticism for enabling bets on global conflicts, including those concerning potential Israeli actions in Syria and the length of the LA wildfires.
