The BBC will still broadcast the majority of sessions from Sheffield, with all matches accessible on iPlayer.
However, TNT Sports’ transition brings a completely new commentary team for fans to experience.
This team features chief commentator Darren Fletcher, frequently heard during Champions League encounters and major boxing events.
He is often joined by Ally McCoist for those exciting European nights, and the Scottish commentator will partner him for the snooker.
This surprising news was revealed during Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Real Madrid on Wednesday, leaving viewers astounded.
One viewer commented, “Commentators announced by TNT Sports for the World Snooker Championship for next Wednesday night’s session on April 23… Darren Fletcher and Ally McCoist.”
“I’m not joking.”
Another remarked: “Ally McCoist commentating on Snooker. Unbelievable.”
