Kaizer Chiefs’ head coach Nasreddine Nabi acknowledged the disappointment felt by his players following their 2-1 defeat to Marumo Gallants at FNB Stadium last Saturday.
This marks the Chiefs’ 11th defeat in the Betway Premiership this season, with their last league victory occurring on March 4th against Magesi at FNB Stadium.
“We had a conversation with the players because, after such a challenging post-game scenario, it’s clear that everyone is down and there’s a noticeable lack of confidence,” Nabi stated.
The defeat has pushed the Chiefs out of the top eight, leaving them in ninth place with 30 points.
Nabi stressed the need to look forward, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the upcoming critical matches.

“We have two crucial matches on the horizon that could potentially reshape our season. The derby is set for next weekend, along with the Nedbank Cup final.”
Nabi urged his players to reflect on their performances and maintain team unity.
“Everyone must genuinely assess their contributions in both training and games, and we need to come together as we enter this preparation week with our spirits high.”
The former AS FAR coach advised against casting blame or dwelling on past mistakes, instead emphasizing the need for solidarity and a positive mindset.
The derby against Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium on May 3rd will pose a significant challenge, followed by the Nedbank Cup final against the same opponent at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Nabi’s message to his team is clear: regroup, refocus, and strive for a strong conclusion to the season. With the right attitude, the Chiefs still have an opportunity to turn their campaign around and secure some silverware.
