
Durban – Prince Mxolisi Siboniso Tembe and his companion Sihle Mthembu sadly lost their lives in a head-on collision on the N2, located between uThukela River and Dokodweni Toll Plaza in KwaZulu-Natal.
On Sunday (27 April 2025), KwaZulu-Natal Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma shared the heartbreaking news, stating: “We offer our deepest sympathies to Inkosi Mabhudi Tembe and the entire Tembe Royal Family following this tragic incident that resulted in the loss of his late brother’s elder son.”
Prince Tembe was 41 years old.
“Our effective RTI team responded to multiple accidents on Friday, which were caused by the heavy rainfall,” MEC Duma noted.
“At the time of the incident, Prince Tembe was heading home to the Umkhanyakude District Municipality.
“He has been reunited with his deceased parents.”
MEC Duma stated that Prince Tembe is survived by his fiancée, two sisters, and a younger brother.
“We pray for strength and comfort for the Tembe Royal family and the Mthembu family,” MEC Duma expressed.
“In addition, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of five individuals who lost their lives in another tragic accident that took place in Cato Ridge this morning.
“We wish the families and friends of the deceased strength during this difficult time of mourning.
“Finally, we earnestly pray for God to provide healing to those who sustained injuries.”
