Cape Town – Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has reported a “brief interruption” in aircraft refuelling operations at Cape Town International Airport (CTIA).
This disruption occurred this morning, Saturday, 19 July 2025, due to a fuel valve issue identified during a routine quality test by the airport’s fuel service provider.
“For safety reasons, fuelling was temporarily halted while the affected area was isolated. Refuelling resumed shortly thereafter, and ACSA confirms that operations have mostly returned to normal,” ACSA stated in a message shared with The Bulrushes.
“The majority of stands are now fully operational, and no major disruptions are expected for the remainder of the day.”
“Seven flights faced minor delays, amounting to a total of 54 minutes.”
ACSA noted that technical teams are on-site to oversee the situation and complete necessary repairs.
“The safety of our passengers and staff is our highest priority,” ACSA stressed.
“We are working closely with all relevant partners to ensure a smooth recovery and to minimize any further operational impacts.”
“We appreciate the patience and understanding of our airline partners and passengers.”
