EFF Leader Malema Back in Court to Push for Ngizwe Mchunu’s Arrest

Pretoria – Julius Malema, the chief of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has filed an urgent request for contempt of court with the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria, targeting Ngizwe Mchunu, the leader of the anti-immigrant organization Amabhinca Nation.

This request seeks the court to rule Mchunu in contempt and to impose a sentence of 6 months in prison without the option of a fine.

As stated in the court documents, Malema alleges that Mchunu has intentionally and unlawfully continued to make defamatory statements about him, violating a court order issued on June 5, 2026, and has willfully disregarded that order.

The hearing for this matter is scheduled for June 17, 2026.

The leader of Amabhinca Nation has not withdrawn the defamatory remarks and recently reiterated in interviews that he stands by his comments.
