Cape Town – Throughout the last year, the Sea Point Starbucks has quietly transformed into something beyond a typical coffee shop.
While customers still queue for their favorite drinks, many opt to stay awhile.
Laptops flicker open at tables.
Meetings take place across from the expansive window.
And once a month, yoga mats appear, creating a serene space for relaxation.
Hannah Cragg, the mind behind Hannah Habits, leads the monthly Pilates Sculpt class.
Upon her return to Cape Town from New York, her aim was to cultivate community rather than just a client list, and this venue became an ideal setting.
The class welcomes participants of all body types and fitness backgrounds.
Some come alone, others bring friends. All are embraced, regardless of their level of experience.
The primary focus is to move together and share a sense of community.
A year on, familiar faces still return.
They come for the workout and remain for the lively discussions that follow.
What began as strangers now save seats for one another, forging lasting connections.
Pilates Sculpt achieves its mission. Strength is nurtured with each breath, contributing to a more stable core.
You depart feeling comfortable in your skin, standing tall and calm compared to when you arrived.
The coffee brings its own comfort.
Warmth envelops your hands as life begins to pull you in all directions.
A few moments of peace that belong solely to you.
The same grounding sensation, served in a cup.
That encapsulates the essence of this place at its best. More than just a counter and a queue.
It’s a sanctuary that offers a sense of belonging, a hint of resilience, a moment of tranquility—and, of course, excellent coffee.
