Beijing – South African Deputy President Paul Mashatile has arrived at the Shunyi Centre in Beijing, China, for the Opening Ceremony of the Fourth China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE).
CISCE is the world’s first national-level expo dedicated to global supply chains, organized under the aegis of the Chinese central government and supported by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
Deputy President Mashatile is in China for a Working Visit from June 20 to June 26, 2026.
This trip is made at the request of Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
CISCE represents the first national-level expo in the world focused on global supply chains, hosted by the Chinese Government and organized by the CCPIT.
This is Deputy President Mashatile’s second time participating in the Expo, having previously attended the 3rd CISCE in July 2025.
The Working Visit seeks to strengthen the ties between South Africa and China, emphasizing political cooperation, industrial investment, trade facilitation, and economic collaboration.
Building on the positive outcomes from the 9th South Africa-China Bi-National Commission (BNC) held in Cape Town in March 2026, co-chaired by Deputy President Mashatile and Vice President Han Zheng of the People’s Republic of China, the visit aims to enhance cooperation in mutual areas of interest.
Furthermore, the Deputy President will hold high-level discussions with prominent Chinese investors in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, highlighting the strong economic partnership between South Africa and China.
Deputy President Mashatile is joined by Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry, and Competition, Zuko Godlimpi, along with various senior government officials.
