Polokwane – A 35-year-old man, who had previously been granted bail on two occasions for possessing stolen vehicles, has been arrested for a third time and is facing a significant prison sentence for his actions.
On Monday, 22 June 2026, Mosa Allen Dhlamini was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Polokwane Regional Court for three counts of possessing a stolen motor vehicle.
He admitted to the charges against him.
According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the conviction and sentencing resulted from intelligence-led operations conducted by the Provincial Vehicle Crime Unit and other law enforcement agencies from August 2024 to February 2025.
Dhlamini’s initial arrest took place on 2 August 2024 in Makhado when he was found with a stolen Toyota Land Cruiser valued at approximately R4 million.
“The vehicle was recovered during a coordinated effort that included the Provincial Tracking Team, Provincial Investigation Unit, Tracker Connect, Tshimollo Security, Limpopo Tactical Security, and ShadowSecure Security,” stated the police spokesperson.
“Despite being granted bail, the accused faced another arrest on 26 September 2024 near Polokwane while driving a stolen Toyota Fortuner valued at about R900,000 during another intelligence-driven operation. He was released on bail once again.”
On 2 February 2025, Dhlamini was arrested for the third time at the Beitbridge Port of Entry with a stolen Toyota Prado worth roughly R1 million in his possession.
“Following this arrest, bail was opposed, and the accused remained in custody until the case was concluded,” stated Colonel Ledwaba.
“After pleading guilty to the charges, the Polokwane Regional Court sentenced him to 15 years of direct imprisonment on 22 June 2026.”
Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, commended the investigator, prosecutor, and all involved law enforcement agencies for successfully arresting and convicting a repeat offender.
The prosecution was led by Advocate George Sekhukhune, with the investigation conducted by Sergeant Kgabo Mokaba from the Provincial Vehicle Crime Unit.
