The Ring General is heading to Saudi Arabia to challenge for the Undisputed WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions, where he’ll face champion Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn in a triple-threat matchup.
Gunther has had an impressive journey in WWE since Vince McMahon’s exit. Under Triple H’s guidance, transitioning from NXT UK to NXT, the Austrian superstar has earned the recognition he truly deserves.
In a conversation with SunSport, Gunther referred to his partnership with Triple H as ‘remarkable’.
He stated: “Yes, he has always been a significant supporter of mine, even before I got here.
“He has been a strong advocate for me. One of the most vital things he did was assure me that ‘I have the right man’.”

“And I believe that was essential because it can often be the biggest obstacle. Amazing.”
Saudi Arabia is currently in the second phase of a decade-long agreement with WWE, having already hosted this year’s Royal Rumble, and is set to hold WrestleMania next year.
Earlier this year, the Ring General famously retired AJ Styles during an event in Saudi Arabia.
Gunther emphasizes the importance of hosting WrestleMania outside of North America for the first time, believing fans from Europe will value the location.

He remarked: “That’s going to be fascinating. I believe it presents a wonderful chance for fans from Europe to travel to Saudi Arabia to see it live, as it’s actually closer than going to the U.S.
“Performing internationally is extremely important. While television and the internet can reach global audiences, nothing can compare to the experience of being there in person and connecting with the fans.
“I’m thrilled that WWE is making strides internationally. We are focusing more on global markets. I fully support that.”
