Two Ex-NBA Players Charged in U.S. Sports Betting Probe

Former NBA players Malik Beasley and Edward Davis, along with sports agent Paolo Zamorano and three others, have been charged by federal prosecutors for their alleged involvement in an illegal sports gambling scheme.

The charges, disclosed on Monday in Brooklyn, New York, indicate that Beasley and Davis reportedly colluded to either underplay or overplay their performances in games relevant to betting metrics, as per U.S. officials.

This situation is part of a broader investigation into the sports industry, which has already led to charges against NBA player Terry Rozier and MLB pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz.

Beasley’s attorney, Stephen Haney, mentioned that he has gone through the indictment and expects Beasley to turn himself in to federal authorities by Wednesday.
