Durban – A woman in her 40s lost her life after being shot on Blackburn Road close to Park Road in the Durban North vicinity.
Garrith Jamieson, spokesperson for ALS Paramedics, confirmed they were alerted to the shooting just after 5:30 pm on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
“When paramedics arrived, they found a notable presence of security personnel and the South African Police Service, with the road closed to traffic,” Jamieson stated.
“They pointed paramedics to a vehicle that had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.”
“The medics found a woman, believed to be in her 40s, with several gunshot wounds. Sadly, there was nothing that could be done, and she was declared dead at the scene.”
Following that, paramedics learned that two other individuals had also sustained injuries.
A delivery biker was struck while passing through the incident area.
He managed to reach a location further down the road, where paramedics stabilized him before taking him to a nearby hospital for further care.
A child also incurred minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for additional treatment.
The road remained shut for an extended period while authorities carried out their investigation.
