Polokwane – Heartbroken family members have uncovered the body of their female relative, wrapped in a blanket and hidden inside a pit toilet.
In connection with this heartbreaking discovery, police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba reported that the remains of a 40-year-old woman were found in a pit toilet at Ha-Lambani Mahagala on Sunday, 19 July 2026.
Authorities in Tshaulu, Limpopo, have initiated a murder investigation.
“It is claimed that the body of the deceased was discovered around 11:40 AM within the pit toilet at her home, covered by a blanket,” stated Colonel Ledwaba.
“Family members alerted the community.”
“Police and Emergency Medical Services were summoned to the scene, where the body was removed from the pit toilet.”
“Preliminary investigations suggested that the victim had sustained injuries to her face and head.”
Law enforcement is actively searching for a suspect associated with the murder.
Detectives visited the suspect’s residence, but he was unavailable.
A formal murder case has been opened.
Colonel Ledwaba reiterated that efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect are ongoing.
