Newcastle Targets Brother of Premier League Star as Potential Replacement for Bruno Guimarães Amid Arsenal’s Transfer Pursuit

NEWCASTLE has reportedly recognized Felix Nmecha as their top choice to succeed Bruno Guimaraes.

The Magpies are expected to part ways with their captain before the new Premier League season, with Arsenal likely to finalize his transfer.

Reports suggest that Guimaraes’s transfer to the Gunners will involve a fee of approximately £80 million.

While official announcements are yet to be made, Newcastle is proactively seeking his replacement.

According to reports from the French publication L’Equipe, Nmecha is the club’s main target.

The midfielder, who represented Germany in the World Cup earlier this summer, is the younger brother of Leeds United’s Lukas Nmecha.

At present, he is with Borussia Dortmund after transferring from Wolfsburg three years ago.

Before his stint in Germany, Nmecha came up through the ranks at Manchester City, where he made three appearances for the first team.

The exact fee Newcastle would need to pay for the 25-year-old remains undisclosed.

However, the Magpies are believed to be aware of Dortmund’s primary financial expectations.

Nmecha featured 42 times for the Bundesliga side last season, netting five goals and providing three assists.

During the World Cup, he started all four matches for Germany but only played for 45 minutes in their unexpected exit against Paraguay in the last-32.

There are also whispers that Manchester United may be considering a move for Nmecha to strengthen their midfield.

Speculation about a potential return to Manchester City has also surfaced.
