Djed Spence has revealed that Tottenham will always hold a special place in his heart following his £30 million transfer to Inter Milan.
Now 26, Spence has been a consistent starter for Spurs over the last two seasons and even emerged as a surprise star for England, playing a crucial role in the team’s third-place finish at the 2026 World Cup.
However, with Pedro Porro establishing himself as the right-back under Roberto De Zerbi, and Andrew Robertson alongside Destiny Udogie competing for the left-back position, Tottenham opted to capitalize on Spence’s market value this summer.
Inter officially confirmed his transfer on Saturday evening, paying an initial £25.6 million with an additional £4.3 million in potential add-ons.
Nonetheless, the major announcement was postponed until Spence posted a heartfelt farewell on social media, commemorating Spurs’ Europa League victory against Manchester United in 2025.
He shared on X: “A special chapter comes to a close. It’s been an incredible journey brimming with memories, moments, and experiences that I will treasure forever, especially that night in Bilbao.

Tottenham acquired Spence for £20 million from Middlesbrough in 2022 after an impressive loan at Nottingham Forest.
The full-back faced challenges in securing his position in North London and was loaned to Rennes, Leeds, and Genoa, causing his progress to stall.

Spence began to hit his stride at Spurs in 2024, accumulating a total of 79 appearances over the last two seasons.
Now at Inter, after a brief stint away from Italy, Spence is eager to demonstrate his growth in Serie A.
