Devin Titus bid an emotional farewell to Stellenbosch FC after an unforgettable six years, expressing that he owes his professional football career to the Western Cape club.
Moroccan champions Maghreb Association Sportive de Fès (MAS Fès) activated the release clause in the 25-year-old’s contract to acquire his services for the 2026/27 season.
Titus departs Stellies as a celebrated figure in their history:

- Goals: 36 (2nd all-time for Stellenbosch FC)
- Final Game: Scored during his farewell match against Polokwane City.
“Parting ways with Stellenbosch FC is an incredibly emotional moment for me,” Titus expressed in his farewell interview on the club’s website.
“This club has been fundamental in my path to becoming a professional footballer, and I am forever thankful. However, I look forward to starting my new chapter with MAS Fès. As the titleholders of Morocco and one of Africa’s premier clubs, I’m thrilled to embrace this new challenge and showcase my abilities at this level.”
“There’s never a perfect time to leave a club like Stellenbosch, but I always believed it was important to go after ensuring that I had left the club in a stronger position. We’ve accomplished remarkable things together, and last season, I couldn’t just walk away with relegation looming. Staying to support the team meant a great deal to me, and I believe I was successful in that effort.
“This will be my first opportunity to play outside of the Betway Premiership, which serves as a fantastic chance to experience competition in another country, compete in the Champions League, and strive for success at the summit of African football. I aim to proudly represent my club abroad.”
After making his professional debut with Stellenbosch in 2021, Titus went on to win the Carling Knockout in 2023, where he was named Player of the Tournament for his exceptional performances. He also played a significant role in the club’s historic qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup and reaching consecutive MTN8 finals.
“I never envisioned achieving all that I have with Stellenbosch,” he reflected. “From starting with the reserves, winning the DDC and Next Gen, progressing to the first team, claiming the Carling Knockout, and competing in the Confederation Cup—it has been an extraordinary journey.
“A particularly memorable moment was the game against Cape Town City in 2023. We were in a challenging league position, down two-nil. I distinctly remember coach Steve [Barker] reminding us of his mantra: we do not lose derbies.
“Playing at home, I scored two goals that led to a 3-2 victory. That moment marked the beginning of our upward trajectory in the league. That match was foundational for us and, in many ways, a turning point for me. It remains one of my cherished memories among many others. Reflecting on it brings forth a great deal of emotion, as this has truly been an extraordinary journey.”
Titus received the internal Young Player of the Season award at Stellenbosch in 2023, the Players’ Player of the Season accolade in 2024, and the Golden Boot award in 2025. He also exemplifies the club’s development pathway, rising from the reserves to a vital first-team player.
“I have always aimed to represent myself well through humility and hard work,” Titus stated. “People have noted that I have represented the club admirably because of these qualities, but these are simply my values, and I am fortunate that Stellenbosch embraces them. It has been a perfect fit for me.
“The community, the town, and the people all enrich Stellenbosch, making it a fantastic place. Whether at home, in Cape Town, or anywhere across the country, our supporters were always there for us. I will forever treasure the unwavering support they provided me.
“Numerous individuals have contributed to my journey at Stellenbosch, from coaches and staff to fans, aiding in both significant and subtle ways, and I want to express my gratitude to all of them, along with my family and friends who have supported me throughout.”
