Fear and Gibson aspire to be the first British duo to win gold since the iconic Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean secured it in 1984 in Sarajevo.
The pair, performing to a medley of Spice Girls songs, has a solid chance of winning a medal.
They took bronze at the 2025 World Figure Skating Championships.
The Unforgettable Relation Between the Two Pairs
When asked to name a figure skater, the immediate reply from many British sports fans would likely be “Torvill and Dean.”

Even in 2026, more than 40 years after Torvill and Dean won ice dance gold in 1984, their legacy remains vibrant as Team GB unveils a new medal-contending ice dance pair in Lilah and Lewis.
Gibson remarked: “Torvill and Dean are names that resonate with everyone in the UK.”
“To achieve even a fraction of their success would be amazing. We aspire to be remembered alongside them.”
“Ultimately, our goal is to rekindle interest in the sport within the UK and encourage more people to experience the joy we’ve found in it.”
Torvill and Dean have followed their journey closely, first meeting them at Alexandra Palace where they sought feedback on their performance.
Lewis Talks About His Sexuality
Fear and Gibson are not in a romantic relationship.
In 2022, Lewis openly shared his marriage to Joshua Walsh and his experiences as a gay man.
“Witnessing so many individuals before me live authentically and perform genuinely in their sports inspires me, and I aspire to do the same,” Lewis expressed to outsports.com, citing French medal contender Guillaume Cizeron, as well as Adam Rippon and Robin Cousins, as his role models.
He reminisced about being captivated by Rippon during the Finlandia Trophy leading to the 2018 Winter Olympics, admiring his vibrant energy and charisma.
“His presence is magnetic, and it’s refreshing to see him embracing his true self,” he stated.
Lewis reflected that his “coming out” moment occurred in 2020 when he posted a Valentine’s Day tribute featuring Joshua.
